Cornell campaign hits $3 billion mark
FOR RELEASE: IMMEDIATELY
Cornell campaign hits $3 billion markITHACA, N.Y. — (Nov. 19, 2010) Cornell University's capital campaign has raised $3 billion—an achievement shared by fewer than ten other universities. News of the milestone follows a series of major gift announcements at Cornell this fall, including $80 million to support sustainability research, $11 million to build a powerful new telescope and $10 million to map the canine genome. Since launching the campaign in 2006, Cornell has greatly increased financial aid for students, established new professorships, and raised support for new medical institutes and professorships at Weill Cornell Medical College.
